Will Miss #307 - Tokyo Metro Yellow Manner Posters

There is a particular series of "manner" posters that are regularly issued on the subways. They are always the same color scheme and from the same artist. The style is peculiar, but memorable and the messages in English are sometimes strange and surreal. Most Japan bloggers have pictures of the various posters on their blogs as new ones are released, but an easier way to see them is to check out the Tokyo Metro site.

I'll miss seeing these strangely affecting manners posters.

Will Miss #198 - Japanese movie posters

One of my husband's and my most prized possessions from our stay in Japan is a Monty Python and the Holy Grail Japanese movie poster. Perhaps we're giant dorks, but the movie posters having Japanese writing on them just makes them cooler to us. Of course, the poster designs are also different from those back home in many cases. We've got a collection of movie posters that we have bought since coming here which are our favorite mementos. You can buy such posters for a modest sum in most theaters when you see a movie, and some rental shops give away DVD promotional posters for free, so they're not hard to get.

I'll miss easy (and cheap) access to these cool posters.

Will Miss #96 - Japan Tobacco manner posters

Japan Tobacco has a series of manner posters which you occasionally see all over Japan. They encourage people not to do a lot of the lazy things that they do in order to make their butts another person's problem. Usually, the English on the posters is correct, but the way in which the behavior is framed or written about is almost surreal.

I'll miss these simple, yet artistically engaging posters.
